If there are so many cryptids out there, where are they all found? Well, the answer is they’re everywhere really. Cryptids of all kinds have been spotted in the skies above and deep seas below. They exist in remote forests and can even be found in more urban locales.

The most common threads binding the various cryptid habitats is being remote and unpopulated.
I know what you’re thinking: “Unpopulated? Didn’t you just say they could be found in urban areas?” Well, yes.
However, urban cryptids are usually less likely to make appearances than their rural cousins. Often they appear in empty locations (like the nighttime parking lot of the Fresno Nightcrawler) or places humans tend to avoid (like the sewers of the Toronto Tunnel Monster).
But regardless of these cryptids’ appearance in modern cities, most cryptids prefer the quiet solitude of “just out of humanity’s reach”.
After all, in order for a creature to be considered a cryptid it must have insufficient scientific evidence documenting its existence.

If they lived in our backyards, you’d think we would have captured a proper photograph by now!
